Observations of the physiology of Lyssomanes viridis
This is a republication of an earlier paper on the subject published in Peckhamia. Additional material related to the structure of spider book lungs has been added to document structural evidence for the hypothesis that the air spaces within the book lungs of spiders can expand and contract in association with transient hemolymph pressure changes and the heart beat.
