Icelander began write down sagas during the years of peace, which followed the change of the faith in 1002, when the deeds of the heroes of the past were still kept in the mind of people. This volume appears a work by an Icelandic historian, poet, and politician. Snorri Sturluson (1179 –1241). He is known mostly by his “Younger Edda,” a peculiar guide of the mythological tradition for poets. This book includes narrations about two kings of Norway - Olaf Tryggvason (995 to 1000) and Harald Sigurdsson, later given the epithet Hardrada (1047 – 1066).
