The Daughters of Danaus was published for the first time in 1894 by a prolific and outstanding English novelist Mona Caird (1854-1932). The book rises the questions of the woman's femininity in Victorian style. Caird centers around the description of a new type of a femininity. Here we meet the main character Hadria who has to marry a man whom she does not love. She lives in a marriage, gives a birth to two sons and adopts a baby girl and at certain period of time Hadria starts thinking why women has to get married with those people who are not worth them and whom they neither love nor respect. So Hadria leaves her husband and goes to Paris to study music with her daughter. So be ready to find out what is going to happen in her life next.
