The paper briefly describes the problems caused by scorpion infestation in urban areas, mainly the yellow scorpion (Tityus serrulatus), and the main non-chemical control measures. It also describes a low cost and practical Control Program implemented in the city of Itapira, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a serious urban infestation in the city graveyard; in this case, chemical control operations were succesfully performed to reduce the infestation of the tombs that housed dozens of yellow scorpions.
