Letters signed: Adam Crooks, and F. Montreal Correspondence arising from the Bishop's pastoral letter of 28 April, 1862, in which the character of General Thomas Evans was "assailed". General Evans had offered to assist the financing of a new church on Sherbrooke St., Montreal, of which his son-in-law, Isaac Hellmuth, would be rector. This incident was brought out by the Bishop in the course of a polemical exchange with Hellmuth Filmed from a copy of the original publication held by the Library of the Public Archives of Canada 43
