Bozor Sobir's "Barguzidai Ashori Ustod Bozor Sobir" , as well as "The Thorn Flower" and "From The Thorn Flower to Barbed Wire", is a collection of poetries. Bozor Sobir's "Barguzidai Ashor" was published in 1991 in Tehran by "Al-huda international". Bozor Sobir, is considered to be one of Tajik's finest poets. He writes in Tajik, but his poetry has been translated into many of the languages of the former USSR. Bozor Sobir completed his studies in philosophy at the National University of Tajikistan in 1962 and has worked on the magazines Maorif va Madaniyat (Education and Culture) and Sadoyi Sharq (Voice of the East). During the Soviet period his verse was widely translated into Western languages. With the advent of glasnost' he became actively involved in the political and cultural movements for independent national identity. Bozor Sobir was also a prominent member of the Democratic Party until his resignation from the party in November 1992, reportedly because of disagreement with the party leadership. With four major collections of verse published in the last decade, he is perhaps the most popular poet in Tajikistan and the best known to the outside world. http://www.bozorsobir.com/ http://www.bozorsobir.com/bozor_sobir_poetries.htm
