Readers call Stieg Larsson's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a national bestseller and an international success. It is quite hard to define the genre as it contains elements of murder mystery, love story, and financial puzzle. Harriet Vanger, a descendant of one the wealthiest Sweden's family disappeared almost half a century ago. Her uncle does not give up and goes on to search for the truth. A journalist Mikael Blomkvist with non-formal punk prodigy Lisbeth Salander start the investigation. Two of them meet injustice and corruption.

...to his catalogue of her offences without objection and without even raising an eyebrow. She did not have the “right attitude, ” he concluded, and was about to tell her that it would probably be a good idea if she looked for employment with another firm that could make better use of her skills. Only then did she interrupt him. “You know, if you just want an office serf you can get one from the temp agency. I can handle anything and anyone you want, and if you don’t have any better use for me than sorting post, then you’re an idiot. ” Armansky sat there, stunned and angry, and she went on unperturbed. “You have a man here who spent three weeks writing a completely useless report about that yuppie they’re thinking of recruiting for that dot-com company. The story of people
I have read the book in the three days I had left before going to see the movie (the tickets were already bought). The impression I got - it is a very exciting, catchy and thoroughly-thought-through story, which you can't let go once you start reading. It has it all - feelings, investigation, sex, a bit of action. But in general the story is very interesting, as it uncovers the worlds of several people one by one. We see a strange girl, who has difficulties communicating with the world, but who is extremely clever and good-hearted. We see a journalist, who is determined, but sometimes a bit ignorant (in my opinion). We see a lawyer, who is secretly not as good a person as he ought to be. We see the story of people.
Definitely a book to read!

great book. was reading the hard copy and then lost it before finishing the last 25 or so pages. The free online version does not include those last 25 pages, still don't know the very final ending!
