A work of Jacob Abbott, an American writer of children's books, was published in 1858 under the title “History of King Richard the Second of England”. As the title suggests, this volume is dedicated to Richard II. The author’s aim was to present the main, outstanding traits in the characters, and all the important events of his life, in a clear and free manner, as well as in the plain and simple language.
The author is considered to have a terrific gift for narrative, and his books all read as if they were high suspense novels.
