In this monograph published by three scholars under the title "Inscriptions in the Sand", the article by Vigo addresses the very tight relationship between language and the body. In fact, in his article, Vigo elucidates the terrain between fixed and nomadic bodies and between the language of the Koran and the language of calligraphy, to include writing on the body. This is one of the best pieces I have read in years on the subject of identity, cultural politics and the politics of self.
