eureka a prose poem

Book cover
“Eureka” became the last book by Edgar Allan Poe published inter vivos of this American writer, poet, editor and literary critic. In this work, not less paradoxical and astonishing than his other creations, Poe forestalled the discovery of black holes being guided only by his intuition; he also offered the first plausible explanation for the Olbers' paradox (the argument that the darkness of the night sky conflicts with the assumption of an infinite and eternal static universe).
Edgar Poe referred his “Eureka” to poems, work of art, but not science, at the same time considering it to be the greatest revelation of humanity.
The story was written in the 19th century, though gives a detailed description of the popular 20th century theory.
