Lullaby is the story of Carl Streator, a newspaper reporter who has been assigned to write articles on a series of cases of sudden infant death syndrome, from which his own child had died. Streator discovers that his wife and child had died immediately after he read them a "culling song", or African chant, from a book entitled Poems and Rhymes Around the World.

The most unlikely name and theme for a horror novel makes you wonder why Chuck wrote it after all. It helps to know that the author's father was murdered horribly and was bleeding to death a few years ago. Chuck was asked on the decision of death sentence for the killer. Chuck suffered a lot and he wants our reader to suffer too.

Reading this novel will make any parent think twice before they read any bedtime story to their kids. It is horrible enough in wording. If any movie based on this novel would be released, it has to be rated as "parents not allowed".
