Description:

In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the tributes from impoverished District Twelve, thwarted the Gamemakers, forcing them to let both teens survive. In this rabidly anticipated sequel, Katniss, again the narrator, returns home to find herself more the center of attention than ever. The sinister President Snow surprises her with a visit, and Katniss’s fear when Snow meets with her alone is both palpable and justified.

...one month of our winnings every year for the duration of our lives." The crowd can't help but respond with gasps and murmurs. There is no precedent for what Peeta has done. I don't even know if it's legal. He probably doesn't know, either, so he didn't ask in case it isn't. As for the families, they just stare at us in shock. Their lives were changed forever when Thresh and Rue were lost, but this gift will change them again. A month of tribute winnings can easily provide for a family for a year. As long as we live, they will not hunger. I look at Peeta and he gives me a sad smile. I hear Haymitch's voice. "You could do a lot worse." At this moment, it's impossible to imagine how I could do any better. The gift ... it is perfect. So when I rise up on tiptoe to kiss him, it doesn't seem forced at all. The mayor steps forward and presents us each with a plaque that's so large I have to put down my bouquet to hold it. The ceremony's about to end when I notice one of Rue's...

Catching Fire
This is an almost perfect adventure novel. With action, adventure, science fiction and romance all in one. The post apocalypse setting and the cruel capitol in the nation of Panem. The characters were really focused on and they are extraordinary! And friendship that leads to murder. This is so far one of the best books I've ever read. The Hunger Games is incredible.

Incredible!
This has got to be one of the best books that I've ever read!
It was so suspenceful, and loving. Emotional, and heartbreaking. Fast-paced but time consuming.
I almost cried on at least three parts in the book. Would LOVE to see more of her works.

Amazing & Moving
There were actually parts of the book that made me all teary eyed & the cliff hanger at the end was a perfect way to end the book. I immideately started the third one.

awesome story!
when i finished The Hunger Games it killed me to not be able to immedietly start reading Catching Fire. The story continues seamlessly from the first novel and adds details that only make the world seem more realistic. Though there are some parts that are a bit predictable there are even more parts that come from far left field and catch the reader off guard. The book is in no way 'worse than the first' like some people would like to say, it is a completely different situation entirely, and it was one of the few books that I could not put down! My 'One more chapter' ended up with me finishing the book at 3am the morning after I started reading the book

Catching Fire Review
The plot of the second book of the Hunger Games trilogy is somewhat predictable for me. Especially when it comes to the main character's problems (e.g. when they are in the brink of dying). If I have to compare the first to the second sequel, the former is much better. Although every plot of the book is unique. What I love in this second book is the twist at the end of the story, I didn't see that coming.
