What's Wrong with the World

Book cover
What's Wrong with the World is a wonderful collection of forty-nine essays written by a famous English writer Gilbert Chesterton (1874-1936). He is recognized as one of the most prolific and contradictory writers of the first half of the 20th century. Chesterton was not only a talented writer but also philosopher, journalist, poet and master of detective stories. For his ideas he was called the "prince of paradox". What's Wrong with the World was published for the first time in 1910 and despite it the stories do not seem to be old-fashioned. In most of his essays Chesterton rises the questions of morality and the role of moral standards in the society which is also a burning problem for the modern world.
