Book cover
(1888PressRelease) Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre comments in new blog post that , just as new shows like How to Look Good Naked promote self esteem, cosmetic procedures can also provide many psychological benefits. In the latest post from the informative blog Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Toronto and Mississauga, Dr. Michael Weinberg, Royal College Certified Plastic surgeon, and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Trillium Health Centre reviews many of the psychological benefits of plastic surgeries, such as breast augmentation, tummy tuck and liposuction and of non surgical cosmetic procedures like Botox, Restylane and Juvederm. He points to the show "How to Look Good naked", a UK phenomenon , soon to air in a Canadian version, as evidence that what women really want isn't just to look good, but is to feel good. Trillium Health Centre has recently joined the list of teaching hospitals affiliated with the University of Toronto. Dr. Weinberg will head up this new teaching Plastic Surgery Division at Trillium, one of the largest Hospitals in Ontario. He is an ideal candidate for the role. He has garnered many teaching awards in the field of Plastic Surgery in the past and has published over 30 papers in the medical literature. The latest blog article sites research data from the world of psychology to support the contention that cosmetic medical procedures confer psychological benefits. A review of 37 studies cited in the blog concluded that patients generally had improved body image after plastic surgery. A specific finding of a high rate of overall satisfaction, with fewer negative emotions with respect to body image in social situations was reported in one study. The article goes on to postulate that cosmetic medical procedures can enhance self esteem, improve interpersonal relationships, and boost career prospects. The blog postulates that even relatively non invasive procedures like microdermabrasion or wrinkle injections like Botox, Restylane or Juvederm, can provide a sense of well being by making people feel pampered , especially during dreary winter months, or times of stress. Treatments like Botox for Hyperhydrosis can confer psycholgocal benefits by reducing self consciousness or embarrassment. Finally, the blog invites input from patients who have undergone any cosmetic medical treatments, both surgical and non surgical, by asking patients to participate in a poll conducted on the blog site. Have you had plastic Surgery? Botox? Restylane? Do you think you received some psychological benefit from the procedure? Participate in this interesting blog poll. http://www.mississaugacosmeticsurgeryclinic.com Source: http://www.1888pressrelease.com/mississauga-plastic-surgeon-weighs-in-on-how-to-look-good-pr-183422.html
