An Aviator's Field Book

Book cover
This memoir recounts the life of one of Imperial Germany's most famous and influential fighter leaders in World War I. A national hero, the youngest captain in the German air force, Oswald Boelcke wrote down his daily impressions and adventures in the great World War in “An Aviator's Field Book.” Modestly and vividly he described life of an aviator, his work and victories. The book was written in 1916, before his death. (He became a pilot shortly before the outbreak of the war, and when he was tragically killed in a flying accident.)
