Macdonald, F. Gwynplaine MacIntyre, Robert E. Vardeman, and Thomas M. Mitchell.

It is surmised that stories of Tom Swift were written by several different authors under a single pseudonym, Victor Appleton. The name of this protagonist appeared first in a series of books in 1900, followed by the second series in 1954-1971, describing the adventures of Tom Swift the junior, the son of the inventor. The third series is devoted to his space journeys. The science discoveries and inventions formed the plot of all the books.
