The Adventures of Captain Horn
- Author: Stockton Frank Richard
- Genre: Geography
This is a very old book that was originally published in 1895 by Charles Scribner's Sons. Captain Horn, his small and some passengers are shipwrecked on the coast of South America. There are almost no chances for the help to arrive as people found themselves hundreds of miles away from any civilized community. Ultimately, the party moves into a cave for protection against both the elements who show up. Through a comedy of errors, a treasure trove beyond all belief, cached away by an ancient civilization, is discovered. That only fact changes the dynamic of the action, forcing them to change their approach to their probable rescue..
the analytical theory of heat
- Author: jean baptiste joseph fourier
- Genre: Mathematics
Classical treatise by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier (21 March 1768 – 16 May 1830), a French mathematician, Egyptologist and physicist. Fourier was the first to discuss in a comprehensive manner the various aspects of the flow of heat in bodies. Mathematical theory of heat conduction launched him into celebrity with the publication of his 1822 work “The Analytical Theory of Heat” (Théorie analytique de la chaleur). This masterpiece covered the hitherto unexplored field of heat propagation and contained the mathematical techniques which later were developed into a special branch of mathematics - Fourier analysis and Fourier integrals.
