Gerald Breckenridge (1889-1964) was an American author and journalist. He was a reporter for the Kansas City Star and the New York Telegram, later becoming City Editor for the latter. He was a publicist for R. K. O. Studios, and later lived in Alabama, New Orleans and Virginia. He was the author of two novels, Brief Kingdom (1936) and The Besieged (1937), and 10 volumes in the Radio Boys series (1922-1931), these are: The Radio Boys on the Mexican Border, The Radio Boys on Secret Service Duty, The Radio Boys With the Revenue Guards, The Radio Boys Search for the Inca's Treasure, The Radio Boys Rescue the Lost Alaskan Expedition, The Radio Boys in Darkest Africa, The Radio Boys Seek the Lost Atlantis, The Radio Boys With the Border Patrol, The Radio Boys as Soldiers of Fortune and The Radio Boys With the Air Patrol.

We don't want to smash. I candrop into the water and swim a stroke or two, and get aboard. "As the boys swung up close, however, the figure at the wheel of theother plane stirred. Then the man lifted his head and looked at them, in dazed fashion. "Mr. Higginbotham, " exclaimed Frank, under his breath. "Well, what doyou know about that?"It was, indeed, the man they had interviewed earlier that day in theMcKay realty offices, back in New York. "How in the world did he get here?" asked Jack, who also hadrecognized the other. Frank had brought their plane to a halt. It bobbed up and down slowlyon the long ground swell, not far from the smaller machine....
