The Invisible Ring

Set before the rest of the series it tells you the story of a young man who was tricked into becoming a sex slave until one day he kills the woman who owns him and her brother. He thinks he is going to be sold to mines and certain death, that might have been preferrable to the Grey Lady who buys him instead. Of course everything changes when he gets to know the lady and nothing is ever what it seems. The Old lady isn't old and the broken black widow witch isn't broken and the crazy guy isn't crazy. If you have read the other blood jewels series this is a must read.
