The Alchemist

by Paolo Coelho

Paulo Coelho's enchanting novel has inspired a devoted following around the world. This story, dazzling in its simplicity and wisdom, is about an Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago who travels from his homeland in Spain to the Egyptian desert in search of treasure buried in the Pyramids. Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself king, and an Alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a meditation on the treasures found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is art eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts.

Journey towards life
To pursue and realizing our dream is the theme of this book. The story is simple, so is the philosophy, but yet it allows us to go deep inside our thoughts to understand what we really desire in our life.

An amazing guide for us to understand ourselves.

a must rd bk 4 those who keep others first in their lives and fool themselves saying that they are sacrificing their passions for others... Just like what I was......... One wud never say they are 'sacrificing' if they really do it with luv......... I wud rd this n number of times to remind myself of the Soul of the eternal who wants to passionately enter mine and make all of my passion clear

He had tried in vain to establish a relationship with an alchemist. But the alchemists were strange people, who thought only about themselves, and almost always refused to help him. Who knows, maybe they had failed to discover the secret of the Master Workthe Philosopher's Stone and for this reason kept their knowledge to themselves.
