Going Rogue: An American Life

by Sarah Palin

If you arrange a small poll among Americans and ask them who Sarah Palin is, few of them will answer correctly, most won’t know this name. But one year ago vice presidential nominee and Alaska Governor took the floor at the Republican National Convention… and those words instantly made her one of the most famous women in the world. Being the head of America’s largest state, she implemented many important reforms other male politicians could only dream about. They were not only numerous, but also important: ethics reform and energy independence, to name the few. She renewed public school funding and reminded authorities about their responsibilities to young people. Oh ,yes, the biggest private sector infrastructure project in U.S. history, how could I forget?. . You think that to perform such great deeds she had to devote all her time to politics, that she had no private life? You are wrong, like a real woman she managed to succeed in very many things at once: she also was a good wife and loving mother of five children, the youngest of whom was an infant with special needs and the eldest served his country in Iraq. As the campaign started, Sarah Palin became the target for both prize and criticism. Some thought that she would serve their interests well, being one of them, one of the «regular» people, others claimed that woman in an apron behind the kitchen table would not be able to become a good political leader. But they all were wrong, they didn’t know this woman. Do you want to look into her heart?
Reading this interestingly written memoir you will find out from Sarah herself about her life, how she grew up in wilderness of Alaska, how important family was for her and how she finally met her true love and achieved heights of being both a good politician and wonderful mom. Sarah also shows us presidential campaign 2008 from the point of view of a woman, mother; indicates to us different characters from honest devoted patriots to those who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and gain power.
